Kevin Costner will direct and star in the action-adventure as a Sheriff during World War II who has to try and keep a town from exploding into violence. Beacon Pictures is fully financing. Armyan Bernstein will produce, and Suzann Ellis, Jasa Abreo and Peter Almond will executive produce. It’s written by Dan Gordon. Beacon and Costner are beginning to cast, including the other lead role of a German U-boat commander. IM Global is handling foreign sales and will introduce the project to distributors at Berlin's European Film Market this week. Armyan said, "This has been a dream project for Kevin and I for years. The themes are timeless - war, peace and reconciliation. The canvas is epic - look at the movies Kevin has directed." This is Kevin’s and Armyan’s fourth teaming. Production is slated for fall.
