Two new films beginning for Kevin….

According to the article by Michael Fleming, dated March 18, 2009, at the following link:

The movie is an “independently financed drama” called ‘Company Men’, about the impact that a corporate downsizing has on both its casualties and survivors. Kevin Costner will be joining Tommy Lee Jones and Ben Affleck. It was written by and will be directed by John Wells. Production begins in April in Boston. Wells, Claire Rudnick Polstein and Paula Weinstein are producing. Barbara Hall exec producer. Affleck plays a corporate hotshot whose Porsche and six-figure salary vanish after he gets laid off. Costner plays his brother-in-law, a salt-of-the-earth drywall installer who gives him a construction job. Jones plays a senior partner in the firm, a principled man who struggles with the greedy actions of his partners.

Costner is also working to set up "The One," a film he will direct from a script he penned with “Dances With Wolves” writer Michael Blake, based on an idea by Blake. Costner will star as a free-spirited man who inherits $3 billion, leading him on an adventure and an eventual collision with pirates in the Cayman Islands.

I haven’t been able to see this until now because my old computer and my dialup wouldn’t let me! Fortunately for me, some people upgraded and I got their “old” computer but it’s better than my “old” computer so it’s a “new upgrade” for me!! And to go along with this good fortune, my local Broadband provider had a 6-month special on their price so I did an assessment of my budget and decided I could swing it with a couple adjustments and now I can see all the videos I’ve been missing out on!! Excerpt: Hollywood actor Kevin Costner was recently hired to star in an advertising campaign for Turkish Airlines. Costner's commercials were to be broadcast in 70 countries. An Turkish Airlines advertising department employee said the promotional campaign was suspended in the wake of the fatal plane crash.

There was a helicopter crash in Chanco, Chile, on February 15th, which was carrying firemen to a nearby forest fire when it crashed into a fog shrouded mountain killing all 13 aboard. Then on February 20th, a cargo plane crashed on take off in Luxor, Egypt, killing the 5 people aboard. Then there was the THY crash on February 25th, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, killing 9 of the 135 people on board and injuring many.

It was just January 15th when the US Airways Airbus A320 bound for Charlotte, N.C., struck a flock of birds during takeoff and was miraculously ditched in the Hudson River by its pilots, with all 155 on board safely rescued from the plane by boats.

I think the fact that airplanes fly at all is a miracle!! I am amazed by the technology that was realized in order to create them and keep them flying!! And I wish every flight could reach its destination safely!!

I pray for all the families and loved ones affected by these crashes, that they will have comfort and peace in the knowledge that they will see their loved ones again one day. There is a heaven…..
