It's called 'The Bodyguard' – an electrified arm shield for police officers, guards or soldiers to deliver a less-than-lethal and loud electrical shock to any aggressor who attacks. It's able to record video and audio evidence that can be GPS and time/date-stamped for court purposes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will soon test and evaluate several pre-production prototypes of it. It was invented by David Brown, an avid hiker, who was inspired to create the BodyGuard when a cougar attacked three mountain bikers – killing one of them – on one of his favorite trails near his home in Southern California, about seven years ago. Brown, who is a cameraman in the movie industry, has partnered with Kevin Costner and Sheriff John Bunnell (retired), host of “World's Wildest Police Videos” in a company they call 'Armstar' which is headed by Andrew Quintero of Aerospace Corporation. 'The BodyGuard' will also be showcased at the 15th Annual Mock Prison Riot in Moundsville, West Virginia, in May. Read the article for more details.
