It was March 28, 2002 and Kevin was the starting shortstop for the San Bernardino Stampede, the Single-A minor league team in the Seattle Mariners' farm system. In the 9th inning Kevin was allowed to pitch and the Mariners' manager Lou Piniella decided to pinch-hit. The following video is from my local news:
