KC & MW Tells The Story Behind Their Songs: “Cleo At The Wheel”

Michael Blake (great friend of the band – writer of Dances With Wolves) wrote a cool poem called “Cleo At The Wheel.” We liked it so much that we put it to music with a few changes. Cleo is the quintessential wild woman – unstoppable, visionary and passionate. Each of us has a “Cleo” in our lives and we tried to bring her into this song. In the bridge of this song you’ll hear three names – Lozen, Mangus, and Victorio. They were three of the greatest warriors in America – all Apache Indians. One of them, Lozen, is a woman.
